Multiplying and Dividing by Ten
Skipping Your Way Through Multiplication and Division
We all know the trick to add a zero when multiplying by ten and remove a zero when dividing by ten, but skip counting reinforces the idea that multiplication is just repeated addition. This workbook makes it easy by providing guidance from a thousands board. The student multiplies or divides by ten in the Number Lake with the aid of a color-coded thousands board and Egyptian finger counting. This encourages the student to draw on their skill of skip counting in tens as a means to multiply or divide by ten.
